About us

The Horsham Sangha is grounded on Mindfulness Based Meditation and Zen Buddhism to encourage developing personal awareness and direct contact with our lives. The emphasis is on a shared meditation practice and supporting people to bring this into their daily lives. The meditation practice is based on the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Zen Meditation merely points the way to a genuine and enduring relationship with ourselves and the world.

Group members come from all walks of life and with different levels of meditation experience. The Sangha practice sitting, walking and guided meditations in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Discussions allow space for individuals to talk about both their meditation practice and how this impacts on their life. This practice can help manage stress, anxiety and depression and offers the opportunity to be part of an accepting group.

Payment for the evening is by contribution and is based on affordability for each individual,  A suggested level is up to £5.00, however please do not let cost be a barrier to you coming.

We meet every Sunday evening, 7.00 - 9.00 (turn up from 6.45 for a 7.00 start) at Collyers College, opposite Horsham Hospital. There is ample parking and within a 5 minute walk from the train station.
